Thanks for all of the nice feedback.

The desk is very well made and, most importantly, it fit in the space (48" L x 20" D).  Previouosly, I had a small fold up plastic top table.

The bonus was that I was also able to re-purpose the keyboard tray for additional storage.  The problem with the keyboard tray was that it had no back on it.  So, I made one out of a couple of 1x2 blocks and some bits of moulding that I had in my "surplus".  I think the moulding came out of a neighbors trash bin. 

I also made one other improvement to the space which I will show once I have re-positioned some engines.

I am escaping the heat this week (it was 100F yesterday with a 118F heat index and heading out for a week to the mountains of New Mexico to attend the annual Santa Fe  Indian Market (link below) and for a few days of fly fishing with my wife on the San Juan River.
