Thanks Carl, most have a drilled metal plate on the base (some even have one on both sides), but they all seem to still have burns around the wick holes. I would imagine it's a combination of overfilling, too tall of wicks and sliding the burner in already lit. I prefer to light after it's  already installed and I keep my wicks trimmed level with the tube as I'm not running anything (Mersey accessories are very hard to find)

These twins and triples (54's and 55's) bring top dollar on eBay, I would highly recommend keeping an eye out for a 53    even better a 53GR (gear and reverse)
