I just had the opportunity to catch up on your build thread Dennis.

I learned a lot and enjoyed the updates.

You have done a nice job on this build.

Thanks for a wonderful build thread.

Mutter mutter fr.. reversing gear.
This is my first attempt at making reversing gear and a twin at that.
All does not go well due to not a lot of room only one eccentric has a bolt to hold to crank shaft .
The other eccentric is pinned to its mate .
60 degrees it says to give  a 120 offset .
Either my 60 “ are out or my maths or direction sucks .
I will have to make some more eccentrics and time them one at a time then pin together when running
I am still waiting for some bolts to arrive so it all may go on a rest for a while,.
Good news is last night i had it running on 10 psi of steam .
I suppose this is  what happens when you try to punch above your weight .

Cheers
Dennis

Well i confess ,I think this idea of reversing and compound is above my pay grade .
This was my first attempt at making reversing gear and also compounding.
I have  removed the reversing assembly.
After it is run in and I regain my enthusiasm i will try again
I think it is time I make a proper flywheel and this one is just aluminium .
Another run on steam tonight

Cheers

Bonjour Dennis,
Great job indeed ! I can't wait to see the test on steam (the oil displacement lubricatour does not work with air). And the reverse ould be a great plus, even for a compound.

Good Morning Raphael.     The video above is on steam from the electric boiler .
No exhaust visible as it is piped outside

Cheers

Bonjour Dennis,
(Almost) not a single water leak, not a single steam trace ! What an adjustment ! You have made a really good job, this machine deserves a hull  ;)
